Be sure each council applies and spreads the word about these prestigious awards and scholarship opportunities to your members:

State Service Programs (STSP)

• Deadline Extended: March 31,

 Important Deadlines & Requirements

• March 1: Resolutions must be submitted to State Advocate SK Jeffrey A. Gaulin at [email protected] by 5:00 PM.
  (Late resolutions will not be included in the State Resolution Book or considered.)

• March 31: Councils must submit their departed brothers list to State Warden Mark Paul at [email protected] by 5:00 PM.
  (Include brothers deceased since April 2025with any officer designations or clergy noted.)

• April 11: Convention Delegate Registration Forms must be submitted to State Secretary Eric Batista at [email protected] by 5:00 PM.
  (Delegates should bring a completed copy to check-in.)

• April 11: Deadline for purchasing Ladies Luncheon and Banquet Dinner tickets.

• Council per capita payment is required for council participation.

 Convention Overview

The 132nd Rhode Island State Convention brings together Knights from across the state for:
✅ Council Hospitality Night on Friday
✅ Full-day Business Sessions on Saturday (condensed into one day)
✅ Ladies Luncheon at Tavolo Restaurant
✅ Memorial Mass at 5:30 PM at the Radisson Hotel
✅ State Awards Dinner & Award Presentations

Awards are distributed at the State Convention!
Each council should apply for awards and promote scholarship opportunities among their members.

Delegate Registration:
Each council is allowed two delegates. Complete the Convention Delegate Registration Form and email it to [email protected] by April 13, .

Friday, April 24

• Council Hospitality Suites – Casual attire (e.g., Knights of Columbus or Council Polo Shirts)

Saturday, April 25

• Men’s Business Session (Morning & Afternoon) – Business Casual / Business (Jacket & Tie or Suit & Tie)
• Ladies Luncheon – Business Semi-Formal / Formal
• Annual State Memorial Mass – Business Attire (Suit & Tie, 4th Degree Uniform, or Tuxedo/White Dinner Jacket)
  • District Deputies should wear the yellow and white Third Degree Baldric.
  • Honor Guard members must muster in the chapel by 4:45 PM.
• Annual State Awards Dinner & Presentation – Business Attire (Suit & Tie, 4th Degree Uniform, or Tuxedo/White Dinner Jacket)

Name Badges & Medals

✔ Official Knights of Columbus Name Badges should be worn at the business meetings, Memorial Mass, and Awards Dinner.
✔ Only official Past & Former Miniature Medals and Papal Orders may be worn during these events.
✔ Incumbent Medal of Office (if applicable)

For those in Fourth Degree Uniform at the Event:

The official Fourth Degree member regalia dress is as follows:

✔ Navy Blue Blazer with Fourth Degree Emblem Crest and Knights of Columbus Emblem buttons
✔ Official Fourth Degree Gray Trousers
✔ Official Fourth Degree Necktie
✔ Official Fourth Degree Black Beret with metal badge over appropriate colored flash
✔ Plain White Dress Shirt (button cuff, no French cuffs, no button-down collar shirts)
✔ Plain Black Trouser Belt
✔ Black Socks and Plain Black Shoes (or Patent Leather Shoes)
✔ Official Fourth Degree Lapel Pin (#PG-113)
✔ Incumbent Medal of Office (if applicable)
✔ Past & Former Miniature Medals or Papal Order Miniatures (above left breast pocket)

For Color Corps Members:

• Service Baldric (Silver Sword worn from right shoulder to left hip)
• White Gloves
• Color Bearers wear a color-bearer harness and Service Baldric without sword
• When a sword is not permitted, the Service Baldric must still be worn

Note: Name badges are only permitted in social settings or during business meetings, Mass, and dinner and should not be worn while participating in Color Corps activities.

Fourth Degree Regalia Appearance Guidelines

As the most visible arm of the Order, those in Fourth Degree Regalia should strive for excellence in appearance.

Hair Regulations

✅ Hair should be clean, well-groomed, and neatly styled.
❌ Not Allowed:

• Hair extending below the collar when standing at attention
• Hair exceeding a bulk of 2 inches
• Ponytails, mohawks, mullets, extreme sideburns
• Unnatural or exaggerated hair colors
• Greasy or unwashed hair

Beard Regulations

✅ Beards must be short and neatly trimmed.
❌ Not Allowed:

• Beards exceeding 1.75 inches in length
• Patchy or uneven beards
• Unnatural or exaggerated beard colors

Regalia Fit Regulations

✔ Coat should fit properly over chest and shoulders.
✔ Trousers should be full enough to prevent side pockets from spreading.
✔ Trousers should fall midway between the top of the heel and the top of the standard shoe.

Other Regulations

• Earrings
• Facial piercings
• Hand or facial tattoos
