State Chaplain’s Message (this month’s message taken from Fr. Gadoury’s Christmas message to his parish)
“Man’s Maker was made man, that He, Ruler of the stars, might nurse at His mother’s breast; that the Bread might hunger, the Fountain thirst, the Light sleep, the Way be tried on its journey; that the Truth might be accused of falsehood, the Teacher be beaten with whips, the Foundation be suspended on wood; that Strength might grow weak; that the Healer might be wounded; that Life might die.” - St. Augustine This quote beautifully captures the paradox of the Incarnation, the Christmas mystery: the infinite God humbles Himself to share in our humanity, taking on all our weaknesses and sufferings to redeem us. It reminds us of the profound mystery and love revealed at Christmas. Let’s not take this unbelievable reality for granted this year. -Fr. Gadoury
