Philip J. (PJ) Shea III has been elected as the State Treasurer of the Knights of Columbus - Rhode Island State Council. A dedicated member since 2008, PJ has been an active insurance member of the Order, demonstrating exceptional leadership and commitment throughout his tenure.
PJ has served Delaney-St. Teresa Council #57 in various roles, including Lecturer, Recorder, Treasurer, Deputy Grand Knight, and Grand Knight. During his term as Grand Knight, he successfully led the council to achieve Double Star Council status, reflecting his dedication to the Knights of Columbus' principles.
Beyond his local council, PJ plays a significant role in the broader activities of the Rhode Island State Council. He co-chairs the RI State Council Annual Convention and was appointed by State Deputy Michael Benson to chair the Historic 125th Anniversary of the Jurisdiction of Rhode Island. In recognition of his leadership and service, PJ was selected by the Supreme Council to join the inaugural class of the first Blessed Michael McGivney Fellowship for young leaders in 2023.
PJ has also served as State Advocate during the 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 Fraternal Years, a position he currently holds. His community involvement extends to his roles as a board member and coach for the St. Teresa of the Child Jesus CAL Sports program, Darlington American Little League, and the Ocean State Outlaws baseball team. An active member of St. Teresa of the Child Jesus Parish in Pawtucket, PJ contributes to various parish activities and serves on the Parish Council and sacristan team.
PJ is a dedicated husband to his wife Sara and a loving father to their three children: Philip (age 13), Patrick (age 11), and Bridget (age 7). His family, commitment, and leadership make him an exemplary State Treasurer for the Rhode Island State Council.
