Victor M. Silva has been a dedicated member of the Knights of Columbus since September 1978. Throughout his tenure, he has demonstrated unwavering commitment and exceptional leadership within the organization. Brother Silva's journey with the Knights of Columbus began when he joined the order as an active insurance member.
In 1986, Victor became the youngest Grand Knight in East Providence Council history, a testament to his early dedication and leadership capabilities. His contributions extend beyond his local council as he has served as the President of the East Providence Reverend Brendan J. O'Donnell Scholarship Association since 2009 and as a trustee on the Board of Directors for the Columbus Club of East Providence.
Victor has held the position of District Deputy for six terms, showcasing his sustained commitment to the Rhode Island State Council. His dedication to service was recognized when he was awarded Knight of the Year in 2022. In September 2022, Victor was appointed as the RI District Master, further solidifying his leadership role within the Knights of Columbus.
An active parishioner of St. Brendan's Church, Victor serves as both a lector and a Eucharistic minister, reflecting his deep commitment to his faith and community. He is a devoted husband to his wife Nancy and a proud father to their son Kyle, a 3rd Degree member, and daughter Kristen, all of whom support his efforts in furthering the vision of Blessed Fr. Michael J. McGivney.
